Refund Policy

Ama Sora Research LLC offers a straightforward refund policy. If you purchase a digital product from us and you're not satisfied, we'll refund you in full. No hoops, no questions, no time limit within reason. We believe in our work, and we believe you shouldn't pay for something that doesn't meet your expectations.
Digital Products Covered
This refund policy applies to all digital products sold through ama-sora.com, including but not limited to:
- Tokyo Bay Breeze Guide (PDF) — $13.00 USD. A comprehensive 45-page guide to understanding and using the Tokyo sea breeze, including seasonal timing maps, ward-by-ward cooling profiles, cycling route recommendations, and printable wind-forecast cheat sheets.
- Sea-Breeze Data Packs (CSV/PDF bundles) — Variable pricing. Annual compilations of our observational data, including temperature transect readings, wind measurements, and frontal detection logs.
- Consulting reports — Custom pricing. Bespoke microclimate analysis for urban planning and development projects.
Refund Terms
Full refund within 30 days: For any reason. You don't need to explain. Simply contact us with your order details (order number and email address used for purchase) and we'll process the refund within 5 business days.
Refund after 30 days: We still honor refund requests submitted more than 30 days after purchase. Our cutoff is 365 days from the date of purchase. If you bought the Breeze Guide a year ago and just realized it wasn't what you needed, we'll still refund it. Beyond 365 days, we handle requests on a case-by-case basis, but our default is generosity.
Refund method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. If the original payment method is no longer available (expired credit card, closed account), we'll issue the refund via PayPal or bank transfer, whichever you prefer.
How to Request a Refund
Email us at research@ama-sora.com with the subject line "Refund Request" and include:
- Your order number (from the purchase confirmation email)
- The email address used for the purchase
- The product you'd like refunded
We process refund requests within 5 business days. You'll receive a confirmation email when the refund is initiated. Depending on your payment provider, the refund may take an additional 5-10 business days to appear on your statement.
What Happens After a Refund
When we issue a refund for a digital product, the license to use that product is revoked. You should delete the files from your devices and discontinue use. We don't use DRM or technical enforcement — we rely on your honesty. If you received a refund, please don't share the files with others or continue using them.
We do not restrict your ability to make future purchases after a refund. A refund is not a black mark on your account. We understand that products don't always match expectations, and we won't hold it against you.
Consulting Reports
Custom consulting reports have different refund terms due to the bespoke nature of the work. For consulting engagements:
- If the engagement is cancelled before work begins, a full refund is issued.
- If the engagement is cancelled after work has begun but before delivery, a partial refund is issued based on hours worked, with a minimum charge of 25% of the total fee to cover administrative costs.
- After delivery of a consulting report, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of any concerns about the work quality.
